  1. NAVIGATOR LANGUAGE DESCRIPTION REVISION 1

  3. This document describes the "Navigator Language" for use with the Articulate Systems Voice 
  4. Navigator. The language is for the application "The CompuServe Navigator". The two 
  5. products are not related. This language was written by Michael C. O'Connor, author of The 
  6. CompuServe Navigator, CompuServe ID 76004,1447.

  8. To see what revision of the language you are using, open the language file with Language 
  9. Maker, and it will be displayed in the first line.

  11. Global commands can be spoken at any time. These should be familiar:

  38. The dialog group lets you speak to the buttons in various dialogs. Each item clicks a 
  39. button corresponding to its name.

  165. The commands below are for the Preview window. When you say "Show Preview", the Preview 
  166. window opens or becomes active, and the group of commands below become available. The 
  167. commands remain active until you say "Close Preview". If you used some other method to 
  168. make the Preview window active, you can always say "Show Preview" from the top level to 
  169. invoke this command group.

  172. Show_Preview    Activate the Preview window and invoke the commands below.
  173. Compact         Toggles the "Compact" checkbox
  174. Up              Up arrow, moves the highlight. NOT the Up button.
  175. Down            Down arrow, moves the highlight. NOT the Down button.
  176. Open            Types a Return, opening the highlighted tile. Instead of
  177.                 saying "Open", you might want to say "Mail Tile" or "Forum Tile".

  179. Close_Preview   Closes the Preview window, and exits this group of commands.

  182. The following commands are for dealing with the CompuServe Electronic Mail tile's window. 
  183. Normally, you have the preview window active, and when the Electronic Mail tile is 
  184. highlighted, say "Mail Tile", which will open the tile and invoke this command group. You 
  185. can also have the mail tile in the main database window highlighted when you say "Mail 
  186. Tile". If you used some other method to make the mail tile window active, you can always 
  187. say "Mail Tile" from the top level to invoke this command group. The commands remain 
  188. active until you say "Close Mail Tile".

  190. Mail_Tile                Types a Return, which opens the highlighted tile in the
  191.                          database or preview window, and invokes this group. Make
  192.                          sure the highlighted tile is the CompuServe Electronic MAil
  193.                          tile. You can also say "Mail Tile" with the mail window
  194.                          already active, because the Return it types is ignored in
  195.                          that case.
  196. Commands                 Causes the Commands menu to drop down, and then one of
  197.                          the following commands can be used:

  203.      Forget_this_Location... (you can say "OK" or "Cancel" to the resulting dialog)

  207. Close_Mail_Tile          Closes the window and exits the mail group of commands.

  209. These commands are for forum tile windows. Normally, you have the preview window active, 
  210. and when any forum tile is highlighted, say "Forum Tile", which will open the tile and 
  211. invoke this command group. You can also have the forum tile in the main database window 
  212. highlighted when you say "Forum Tile". If you used some other method to make the forum 
  213. tile window active, you can always say "Forum Tile" from the top level to invoke this 
  214. command group. The commands remain active until you say "Close Forum Tile".

  216. The three pop down menus in the forum window can be popped down by saying "Forum", 
  217. "Message", and "Library". After that, you can speak one of the commands in the menu. You 
  218. can continue to say the menu names and menu commands until the group is exited by saying 
  219. "Close Forum Tile"

  222. Forum_Tile              Types a Return, which opens the forum window and invokes
  223.                         the commands in this group. Make sure the highlighted tile
  224.                         is a forum tile. Can also be spoken if a forum window is
  225.                         already active.

  251. activated and the commands in the group are available. You can always say "Show Review" if 
  252. the window is already active, to make sure the commands are active.

  255. Reply                  Clicks the Reply button
  256. Create                 Clicks the Create button
  257. Next                   Clicks the Next button
  258. Push                   Types the Enter key to move to the next screen

  260. Forget...              Clicks Forget button for a reply. You can speak OK or Cancel next
